Peak climbing in nepal

peak climbing in nepal, nepal peaks, nepal climb, nepal climber, nepal high mountains, professional mountain guide, climbing guides from nepal, trekking peaks nepal. The Himalayas are the huge mountain range stretching 3000km east to west. The Nepal portion of the Himalayas is the largest and highest, stretching about 800km and includes eight peaks that rise above 8000m including Mt. Everest (known to Nepalese as Sagarmatha).

The Nepal Himalaya has become a great theatre of mountaineering activities. There are many Himalayan peaks open for mountaineering expeditions. In the Nepal Himalaya, there are 240 peaks above 6000m and more than 1300 peaks of 6000m and below.

After Nepal opened its doors to foreign travelers in 1950, it became possible to challenge these mountains. In the beginning, it was simply a matter of conquering the 8000m peaks, but gradually climbers began to attempt various untried routes.

For the more adventurous traveler, there are 18 minor peaks open for Alpine climbing under Nepal Mountaineering Association. The climbing of these peaks is controlled under the rules & regulations formulated by this Association. Detailed information & application for climbing permits are available from the Association’s Office or contact The Great Adventure Treks & Expedition, a trekking Agency in Kathmandu who has membership of Nepal Mountaineering Association. It should be noted that in most cases the climbing of these minor peaks (Trekking Peaks) required snow and Ice climbing experience but don’t worry we are here to provide and train you these activities with experienced Sherpas( The Mountain Hero’s of Nepal).

For the permit you should apply for the permit through the trekking agency & you should have climbing guide otherwise permit is not issued. Trekking agency provides qualified & trained climbing guides to take non climbers for convenience, safety & expected successes. By Himalayan standards these are considered minor peaks, but in fact some of them provide relatively challenging snow and Ice climbing of high standard, & more so in Winter. The royalty for these peaks ranges from 350.00 US$ to 500.00 US$ depending on the particular peak. But peak climbing overall prices varies when you join with the group.

To climb the peak you do not need to have previous experience however the climbing team need to be prepare mentally as well as physically for the adventurous expeditions.. All mountaineering trips are run with professional mountain Guides & Sherpas. We provide handsome services for our patrons and make your trek so simple and most adventurous one. We The Great Adventure Treks & Expedition will take care of you, anywhere you wish either peak climbing or other destinations in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and India. Nepal Peaks Classification

The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has categorized the mountains of Nepal into various classifications, one of these being called trekking peak. A trekking peak is a mountain under 7,000 metres (22,965 ft) that is considered climbable by anyone with a moderate amount of mountaineering experience and skills. While some can be climbed without crampons or an ice axe, most require use of this equipment. In order to attempt a trekking peak, a climbing permit (non-refundable) must be obtained in Kathmandu. Peaks above 7,000 m are categorized as expedition peaks and demand much higher permit fees.

The trekking peaks of Nepal are as follows:

• Island Peak Climbing
This expedition is a great first Himalayan experience that includes glacier travel, moderate snow and ice climbing while ascending 20,000+ foot mountain. Nepal is a country of friendly people, magnificent scenery, and a variety of cultural traditions. This blend of outdoor adventure and cultural exploration is a great way to experience the Himalayan Mountains - the world’s most impressive mountain range - and is sure to create lasting memories and provide you with a satisfying sense of accomplishment. After arriving, you will have a day to explore the exotic city of Kathmandu before flying into the remote mountain town of Lukla where you begin your trek into the Khumbu region of the Himalayas. Situated at an elevation of 9,350 feet, the views of the Himalayan Mountains from Lukla on a clear day are breathtaking. Once there, we follow an ancient route that journeys through tiny villages, across high mountain passes, and through remote valleys. Along the way, we visit Buddhist monasteries and begin to appreciate the unique mountain culture found in the Himalayan foothills. The views grow more spectacular as we venture up the Dudh Kosi River to Namche Bazaar - the gateway to the Khumbu region at 11,300 feet. We spend a night next to the Thyangboche monastery (12,887 feet), where you are rewarded with spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest, and Lhotse. Full Text & Itinerary

• Chulu East Peak Climbing
These peaks are part of the Manang Himal, which are quite rightly included in the larger Damodar Himal, the eastern limit of which runs south from Chako and Peak 6687 in a north-to-south direction along the Hunlung Khola, Nar Khola and Phu Khola. The south it is bounded by the Marsyangdi River and the Mesokanta La. To the west its limit is the Kali Gandaki and to the north the Parchekya La (5,447m). There exists considerable confusion with regard to the name and location of the Chulu peaks and what summit actually constitutes Chulu West and Chulu East, since it is soon becomes apparent to anyone that has climbed in the range that several other summits close by, which are actually part of the Chulu massif, are not indicated on present maps of the area. For the sake of clarification, four summits can be included in the Chulu group, two of which are possible on the permit for Chulu West and two on the Chulu East permit. What is apparent is that the available trekking map is highly misleading. Full Text & Itinerary

• Chulu West Peak Climbing
Climbing Chulu West peak with the Classical Annapurna circuit fulfills the dream of every amateur climber who wishes to have the Himalayan summit's thrilling experience of lifetime with the great views of Himalayas and Tibet just next to them. Chulu peak climbing is one of the challenging among the trekking peaks in Nepal that requires the greater commitment and previous trekking or climbing experience. You will be fully briefed and instructed by our experienced climbing guide on the techniques and use of crampons, ice axe, rope etc to give you the required skills and confidence to ensure you have every possible chance to summit the peak. • Pisang Peak Climbing

Pisang Peak is taken as easy trekking among other trekking peak but it is also found very difficult by some climbers and complained us that this is not also easy one. So naturally you have to have a good walking and climbing habit as well as courage. The western face of the peak is guarded by a hanging glacier and it is considerablely challenging. Pisang peak ascends from the yak kharkas up to its summit. Ascending and descending route is same one. Some time we find snow on this peak at the top only. The German Expedition team made the first ascent of Pisang peak in 1955. Full Text & Itinerary

• Mera Peak Climbing
Mera Peak At 6476m, is the highest ‘trekking peak’ suitable for anyone with little or no previous experience of using an ice axe and crampons. The spectacular route is well within the reach of regular mountain walkers with a good level of fitness. Our careful programme of acclimatisation is designed to maximise your chance of comfortably reaching this special summit. During the course of this expedition we are constantly rewarded with fine views of world famous peaks, including the towering Everest and Lhotse. Mera Peak’s notable summit provides one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Nepal. This magical vantage point offers stunning views of five 8000m peaks, Everest and Lhotse to the north, Kanchenjunga and Makalu to the east and the majestic Cho Oyu to the west..... • Lobuche Peak Climbing
In the Lobuche Peak there are two different summits Lobuche East (6,119m) and Lobuje West (6,145m). Although a continuous ridge connects them there is a sharp gap and a considerable distance between them. Lobuche is an attractive summit, offering a variety of existing routes and a wide scope for new lines. Seen from near Pheriche, the dark triangle of its rocky East Face rises above the moraines of the Khumbu Glacier to an icy skyline. This skyline forms the South Ridge, the junction of the East Face with the glaciated South-West Face and the line of the normal route of ascent. This in turn leads to the summit ridge running northwest from the top of East Face through several small summits to the East Peak. Full Text & Itinerary

• Tukuche Peak Climbing
Tukuche peak is a wonderful - located in front of Dhaulagiri I and Annapurna range on the other side. It is on the northern side of the wildest valley of Nepal (hidden valley). Kaligandaki River flows its bottom. We attempt the summit (6920m) about 4/5 days preparation in Base camp and high camp via North East Ridge. Magnificent mountain views and valleys will be seen during the trek and expedition. Tukuche expedition is considered to be less dangerous but highly technical. Summit of Tukuche peak offers stunnig mountain vistas including entire Annapurna Range, Nilgiri and also the beautiful villages of Marpha, Syang, and Jomsom. Full Text & Itinerary

• Nayakanga Peak Climbing
Langtang region is a popular destination for climbing snow peaks and spectacular panoramic views of mountains in Nepal and Tibet. Easy access to the region and availability of several snow peaks scattered around for acclimatization make this region an ideal destination for novice as well as experienced climbers. Naya Kanga is an attractive peak rising to the west of the Ganja La pass (5,122m). Ascending to Ganja La and the summit of Naya Kanga offer the spectacular panoramic views of mountains in Nepal and Tibet including Langshisa Ri (6,310m), Pemthang Ri (6,836m), Shisapangma (8,046m), Langtang Lirung (7,246m), Pemthang Kapro Ri (6,830m) and Langtang II (6,581m). The normal route of ascent to Naya Kanga is via the north - East Ridge over a line on ice and snow. We follow the route of Langtang trek to Kyangjin (3,900m) for the ascent of Naya Kanga. To the north above Kangjin, there are several hills that provide both the magnificent views and acclimatization. Northeast of Kyangjin Ri (4,773m), there is a peak called Tserko Ri Peak (5001m) that provides good climbing for acclimatizatio. Full Text & Itinerary

• Yala Peak Climbing
Usually climbed in 2 days from Kyanjin Gompa (3900m), camping at Yala Kharka (4600m). It's also possible to do it in one day, without camping, but it's a long day with a pre-dawn start. Climb is relatively easy and non-technical, but at some places you have to use your hands, and ice axes are useful but not essential. The last 15 meters to the top is a steep rock pyramid, hands definitely required, and 1500m to fall if you are really unlucky.Yala Peak is very close to Tibetan border; indeed, the one of the border mountain is right next to it (connected by a ridge). The view from top includes Shishapangma, the only eight-thousander completely in Tibet.. Full Text & Itinerary

• Dhampus Peak Climbing
Conical peak on the northern side of Thapa( Dhampus )Pass. Generally snow covered but not alpine in nature ie no bergshrund or crevasses. Access from Marpha or via Hidden Valley on circuit of Dhaulagiri. Situated in the heart of the Dhawalagiri region, Dhampus peak is an interesting peak for climbers. Dhampus Peak lays Northeast of the big Dhaulagiri massif. It is in terms of climbing technicalities an easy mountain to ascent. The overwhelming altitude differences between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges make Dhampus Peak a very exposed spot to observe the scenery from. Having Tukuche Peak (6920m) and Dhaulagiri (8167m) spectacularly near you enjoy the feeling of being part of the extreme altitudes of the Himalayas. The biggest mountain range in the world with uninterrupted heights between seven and eight thousand meters, containing Annapurna -1, 2, 3 & 4, Annapurna-South, The Nilgiris and Tilicho Peak tower above the horizon in the South.
